Description
SUN is a Franco-German singer, guitarist, and songwriter who created "Brutal Pop," blending pop melodies with rock/metal intensity. Her sound fuses catchy toplines, heavy riffs, and feral screams—somewhere between Hole and Gojira.
Her name honors her late father, symbolized by a sunflower on his tombstone. Returning to Germany, she found his grave gone and chose "SUN" to keep his memory alive.
Her music channels raw emotions—pure love, ecstatic joy, deep sorrow, and wild anger. In 2021, she won the FAIR Prize and collaborated with Andrew Scheps (Adèle, Beyoncé, Metallica) on Brutal Pop 2.
She has played 180+ shows across 18 countries, including major festivals like Trans Musicales, The Great Escape, and Fusion. SUN rocked Metallica’s pre-show at Stade de France and toured arenas with Shaka Ponk in 2023/24. She also performed on Taratata, France’s biggest music TV show.
In 2025, she will play Hellfest’s MainStage 2. Her debut album Krystal Metal drops May 9—her birthday. If you know, you know. <3
SUN created a genre she calls « Brutal Pop » : a blend of mainstream Pop and Rock Metal. Catchy toplines, colorful visuals, feral screams and double pedal drums, her Brutal Pop could be the hidden child of P!nk and Gojira.
SUN played for the Metallica pre-show at the Stade de France in Paris, and opened for the Arena Tour of Shaka Ponk. Since 2022 she gave 160 shows in 18 countries on 4 continents.
In September 2021 she is awarded the FAIR Prize, the most important French prize for modern music. She collaborated with Andrew Scheps, whose work with Adele or RHCP earned him 3 Grammy Awards.
SUN debuted on the big screen in 2021 in a leading role in the feature film « Tom Medina » by Tony Gatlif, selected at Cannes Film Festival 2021. In the movie she acts, sings her own songs and plays her sparkly Telecaster. She also wrote five tracks of the soundtrack.
